Sustainability practices

Our operations (mills) are all powered with solar energy, making it one of the ways we give back to the environment and pollute less. 

Water is a scarce resource and considering that many Salvadoran families don't have access to water we don't want to waste a single drop. We are in process of water management and a better treatment so it can be reused, always keeping in mind every single sanitary process.

Our friends in Costa Rica from Anaconda Carbón have helped us obtain a carbon-neutral certificate for our mills and operations. We've bought bonds in El Salvador's geothermal project: LaGeo. 

The primary objective of the LaGeo Project is to supply El Salvador’s rising demand for energy due to economic growth and to improve the supply of electricity, while contributing to the environmental, social and economic sustainability by increasing renewable energy’s share of total the  Salvadoran electricity consumption. One fundamental goal of the project is the efficient use of resources, particularly indigenous resources, while minimizing impact on the environment.

Our friends in Atlanta, GA. from mCultivo are enhancing our system and helping us modernize our systems. M Cultivo (https://mcultivo.com/), a mobile messaging platform that is empowering the next generation of agriculture producers using accessible technology. The platform offers an easy-to-use inventory/relationship management system, automated reporting, and dashboard insights. SMS and WhatsApp are integrated features, allowing for efficient communication to large farmer networks. Producers now have access to reliable information on their own operation and global data from the broader marketplace to drive positive change in their organization.
 

Pesticides and fertilizers are not always the solution for healthier living. We've found an alternative with composting and permaculture that will allow our coffee plants to grow as strong and healthy for production but that won't have chemicals that are harmful for our wellbeing.

Trees are life, trees are oxygen and they also help protect our coffee plants from any natural phenomena. We've planted the trees that are optimal for the conditions in the farm, we'll be filled with oxygen and our plants will be safe.
